MBK_MSK FEBRUARY 2023 MONTH IN REVIEW

In February 2023, My Brothers Keeper and My Sisters Keeper, two organizations focused on youth development and empowerment, held sessions at several Fort Worth Independent School District (ISD) schools. These sessions were aimed at providing mentorship and guidance to young students, with a focus on building self-esteem, developing leadership skills, and promoting positive relationships. The sessions were led by experienced mentors and volunteers from the organizations, who provided a safe and supportive environment for students to learn and grow. Through group activities, workshops, and one-on-one mentorship, students were able to gain valuable insights and tools for success, both in school and in life. The sessions were a great success, with many students reporting improved confidence, better relationships with peers, and a renewed sense of purpose and motivation. The MBK/MSK Got Talent Show is a highlight of the year for FWISD students, offering a platform to showcase their incredible talents. Hosted at the esteemed I.M. Terrell High School, this special event features not only student performances but also special guest appearances that add a touch of glamour and inspiration. Competing for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes, participants bring their best to the stage, whether it's singing, dancing, or other unique skills. The talent show embodies the spirit of the MBK and MSK programs, celebrating the diverse abilities of our students while fostering a sense of community and achievement.

MBK/MSK Annual Stole Event

The Annual MBK and MSK Sole Graduation Event is a momentous occasion that marks a significant milestone in our students' lives. Held to celebrate their achievements and growth, the event features a unique Rites of Passage Ritual. Students don elegantly tailored suits, sponsored by the program, as they prepare to step into the next chapter of their lives. During the ceremony, they are presented with their MBK and MSK stoles, a symbol of their hard-earned accomplishments and their crossing over into a new phase of personal and academic development. This uplifting event not only honors the graduates but also reinforces the core values of mentorship, community, and educational excellence that the MBK and MSK programs embody.
